My name is Brent Jaworski. I am a Certified Health Coach through C.O.P.E., Macdonald’s Center for Obesity Prevention and Education and Villanova University School of Nursing. I have been a certified EMT-Intermediate for the last 3 years.

Here is my story:

About one year ago, I watched my wife begin what I thought was “another diet fad for our home”. Quickly, I noticed this was not the case. I saw that she was losing weight quickly and her mood was different, better, more confident. Praise God! Her coach suggested she consider helping those around her get healthy and who did she turn to first? Well, ironically, (or not) I had recently received feedback from my recent physical about that time. My cholesterol was high and my blood pressure was a bit elevated. My resting heart rate was in the 80s already, and I’m only in my 30s. I had never considered myself “unhealthy” at 205#, 6’.

I started the program and lost my 20 extra pounds of baggage in 2 months to bring me to my healthy BMI. I began to find a love for running and having more energy to keep up with our young children. My cholesterol and blood pressure are within normal range and my resting heart rate is now in the 60s.

But what I gained was so much more than physical health! I began to find a sense of direction, a true purpose, and a resource to fulfill my dreams. I love being an EMT-I, the camaraderie and life-saving capacities to serve others are priceless. But I’ve also seen so many times what happens as a result of poor health. As an EMT-I, my hours are such that I’ve been able to pursue other entrepreneurial opportunities. I’ve dabbled in so many… flipping houses, real estate, and internet sales, to name a few. I just couldn’t find my purpose in them, and I became frustrated and insecure and it began to show in our family life.

This program teaches healthy habits, and I’ve truly been able to embrace that. Beyond a healthy body, the healthy mindset aspect has exploded for me. I am much more disciplined about my work and responsibilities. Suddenly, my vision and purpose became clear with all of those other pursuits I have experienced.

I joined Amy as a health coach this summer as I caught the true mission of this program, to get America healthy. This has given me the opportunity to assist my loved ones to health, but also now, my brothers and sisters in our EMT community, a group near and dear to my heart. My relationship with my wife and kids, what matters most to me, is also improving, as we are both growing in communication and healthy mindset. We are understanding each other better and the decrease in stress and clarity of thought and direction makes for a happier home and fun memories with and ability to pour into our kiddos.

Hi Everyone! My name is Amy Jaworski. I am a Certified Health Coach through C.O.P.E., Macdonald’s Center for Obesity Prevention and Education and Villanova University School of Nursing. I have been a licensed Physical Therapist for 16 years with a Master’s degree from Ithaca College in NY. My clinical experience covers Orthopedics, rehabilitation, home health, seniors and pediatrics school setting. I am also a certified yoga instructor. Here is my story.

One year ago, I was a full time-working, married, mother of 3 children, ages 8, 7 & 7. At 175#, I was a depressed, cynical, know-it-all unhealthy person, often wallowing in self-loathing and self-pity (a far cry from the care-free beautiful fit bride that my husband married). Since giving birth to my twin girls 7 years prior, I had tried everything to lose weight and feel happy. I had done it all, from fasting to smoothies, cleanses, to organic, vegetarian, vegan, natural doctors, diet fads, the list went on. If I did lose weight with any of them, I would put it right back on and more. This was roller the coaster ride of dieting that I wanted off!
I met my health coach last fall at a time when I was desperate for my physical health and emotional well-being. I was also about to take on a 6 week period of regular overtime hours in my job. My typical pattern during a time such as this would be to comfort myself with food and beverage to deal with the stress, and I knew I would be putting on more weight. She listened carefully to my health goals and I signed up immediately. My coach and our program changed my life!

This was not a diet, but a true journey for health. I quickly dropped my 38# to pass my goal wedding weight and restore my high school weight. This weight has stayed off for almost a year now and my journey continues as I’m striving for optimal health through healthy body, healthy mind and healthy finances!

I became a health coach to assist my family members to health, the most rewarding of experiences, and together they have lost over 300#, lengthened their life and greatly improved the quality of their life as well! Soon I had many friends and acquaintances looking for health and what a joy it has been! I loved the conversation I had yesterday with one of my clients, after losing 65# and a lifetime of adult obesity: “Amy, you have changed my life. I just can’t believe it. I can re-invent myself!”

I enjoy physical therapy and will keep my hand in it, but I love health coaching and being on the side of prevention in medicine and having the ability to now extend this valuable program to my patients whose pain and injuries can be helped so much by our health program.

Brent and I are blessed to be able to spend more time with what matters most, each other and our family through the gift of this program, keep our family healthy and extend that gift to others around us… so very rewarding!
